Other options include: Research, Travel/International Medicine, Sports Medicine, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Gynecology, Special Procedures, Palliative Care Rotations, Hospitalist blocks, Radiology, Psychiatry, Rehabilitative Medicine, Allergy, Adolescent Medicine, Ophthalmology, Geriatrics, Alternative Medicine, among many others!
- Residents entering General Medicine typically opt for rotations in Gynecology, Dermatology, Orthopaedics, Allergy and Psychiatry.
- Those entering fellowships may choose anything from Endoscopy (for those considering GI) to a month in the cardiac catheterization or Echocardiography labs (Cardiology) to working with private practitioners in those specialties.
- Residents interested in a hospitalist career often spend time with Anesthesiologists, or may do a 'Procedures' elective - and do anything from central lines in the OR to taps with our Interventional Radiologists.
- Both preliminary and categorical residents may choose from all of these options!!
