The family medicine program is designed to permit each resident to assume increasing responsibilities for patient management commensurate with the resident's professional development, knowledge and maturity. In our program, the family medicine resident, while serving on the medical, pediatric, emergency medicine or obstetrical services, enjoys all the privileges and responsibilities of residents at the same level who are pursuing categorical programs in these specialties.
