Biography Dr. Mah's greatest treasure is his family. He met his wife in Charlottesville when he started medical school at the University of Virginia. They got married and moved to Winston-Salem where Dr. Mah started his residency at Brenner Children's Hospital at NC Baptist Hospital through Wake Forest University. After completing his residency, he joined Cabarrus Pediatrics in 2002 – in no large part, he believes, because of the wonderful desserts his wife brought. The next year his first son was born, and four years later, his second son was born.

Dr. Mah and his family share many interests. Dr. Mah has lead Children's Church and taught in Sunday School at his church – often with his wife's assistance. He will deny it, but Dr. Mah has been known as characters such as Cap'n Johny Pride and 'Master Gardener' Barry Weedy during Backyard Bible Clubs. He enjoys music and has led the children's praise, though Dr. Mah's wife has an infinitely better voice. Both of his boys enjoy music, as well – and while the elder son may be surpassing his piano skills, Dr. Mah can still play guitar better than both of them. They all enjoy good musicals; Dr. Mah's sons were the only ones in their preschool to sing Broadway songs on the playground. His boys enjoy playing with Legos and he will often join them, though both he and his wife have suffered much foot pain due to the Legos. Dr. Mah also enjoys reading books – now often the same ones as his older son. As a child, he enjoyed comic books and is sharing those with his boys. He also strangely enjoys, and has been a parent volunteer at his children's school for more than five years.

Sports and health are important to Dr. Mah's family. Both of Dr. Mah's boys take tae kwon do and have far exceeded Dr. Mah's childhood belt ranking. He has attempted joining his wife at yoga, but her abilities and flexibility again put him to shame. Dr. Mah bleeds Duke blue and his family will cheer for Duke University, where Dr. Mah went to college and was witness to the 1992 Championship. His older son has taken classes on Duke's campus and the younger son is particularly proud of his Duke football jersey. Because he and his wife met there, the University of Virginia runs a close second.

Dr. Mah is committed to helping parents do their best to care for their children, because he knows that just as he treasures his family, your family is your greatest treasure, too.
