Levine Children’s Hospital, the largest and most comprehensive pediatric hospital between Washington, DC and Atlanta, GA, includes the Congenital Heart Center among its more than 30 specialized services, providing invaluable cardiac services. Since opening in 2007, Levine Children’s Hospital has ranked on the U.S News & World Report’s list of “Best Children’s Hospitals” in multiple pediatric specialties, including pediatric cardiology and heart surgery.
Each year in the United States, at least one out of every 100 babies (about 36,000 infants) are born with heart defects, which are abnormalities of the heart’s chambers, valves or vessels. Levine Children’s Hospital has dedicated enormous resources to ensure babies with these defects get the expert, specialized care they require. The Congenital Heart Center’s team of board-certified pediatric cardiovascular specialists, nurse practitioners, pediatric anesthesiologists and pediatricians work in close collaboration to deliver the most effective care for patients with congenital heart defects of all ages, from during pregnancy through adulthood.
