Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery, is the preferred surgical approach for many conditions. Unlike open surgery, which usually requires a long incision, minimally invasive procedures are different because they:

  • Are less complicated
  • Involve smaller incisions (dime size)
  • Incur less trauma on the body
  • Involve faster healing
  • Can have better outcomes

Advanced Surgical Care

Although minimally invasive (laparoscopic) techniques vary, this type of surgery usually involves a surgeon inserting an endoscope, a long thin tube with a lighted camera at its tip, through a small incision. The camera sends a two-dimensional image of the surgical site to a high-definition monitor which the surgeon watches during the operation.

Minimally invasive gynecologic surgeries are available for the following conditions:

  • Abnormal or heavy menstrual bleeding
  • Cancer
  • Endometriosis
  • Fibroids
  • Hysterectomy
  • Incontinence
  • Infertility
  • Ovarian cysts
  • Pelvic pain
  • Sterilization
  • Fertility treatments

Our surgical staff has undergone extensive training on this remarkable technology to ensure that you receive the advanced, personalized care you deserve. Learn more about robotic surgeryother surgery options and our highly skilled surgical staff or visit our A-Z section for more information.
