Small Renal Tumor

Multidisciplinary Program for the Treatment of Small Renal (Kidney) Tumors

The American Cancer Society predicts that 51,190 new cases of kidney cancer will be diagnosed in 2007. A general overview of kidney cancer and its treatment options can be found at the American Cancer Society website .

Chris Teigland, MD, directs a team of physicians at Carolinas Medical Center offering treatment options for patients with small (less than 4 cm) renal tumors. The Carolinas Medical Center Multidisciplinary Program for the Management of Small Renal Tumors also provides advanced technologies such as laparoscopic and percutaneous cryotherapy, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and percutaneous radiofrequency ablation. Our team of urologists, body radiologists, pathologists and researchers assess each patient's situation to determine the most appropriate management technique(s) for these small kidney tumors.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, please call 704-355-8686 or e-mail the Small Renal Tumor program.
