Residency Training

For more than a decade, McKay Urology has been a major component of UNC-Chapel Hill's Urology Residency Program. Drs. Teigland, Kennelly, and Irby are the urologic faculty for Carolinas Medical Center, providing clinical residency training to UNC urology residents. UNC urology residents spend six months with McKay Urology as part of a five-year program. Other CMC residents rotating on urology include:

  • Internal Medicine Residents
  • Family Medicine Residents
  • OB/GYN Residents
  • Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Residents
  • General Surgery Residents

The Urology Residency Program has significantly improved the urologic care of indigent and trauma patients at Carolinas Medical Center.
