Carolinas Laboratory Network's (CLN) chemistry department provides comprehensive state-of-the-art laboratory testing. Staff experience, continuing education and research development allows the department to share advanced procedures with its clients.
CLN has recently implemented the Beckman Coulter Automation System consisting of immunoassay and general chemistry analyzers. Automation enables the laboratory to streamline processes to deliver test results more quickly and accurately. In addition to an extensive menu of tests, the chemistry department also provides protein electrophoresis testing on the Sebia Capillary System, in-vitro fertilization testing and sweat chloride testing to assist in the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis.
A specialized toxicology division within the chemistry department performs testing for the Poison Control Center, as well as immunosuppressant monitoring for transplants using mass spectrophotometry. This department is under the technical and professional direction of a PhD toxicologist.
