The Center for Cervical Insufficiency and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss is a specialty center focused on improving pregnancy outcomes for women who have suffered one or more late miscarriages after 15 weeks gestation.

Consultations with Center for Cervical Insufficiency

Both preconceptual consultations as well as consultations during a pregnancy are available. Your evaluation will involve a thorough review of your past and current obstetric history and will incorporate ultrasound and physical exam findings when appropriate. Patients are evaluated before or during pregnancy and a personal plan of care will be developed in coordination with your primary obstetrician.

See our surgical options for women whose pregnancy loss is due to cervical insufficiency.

What is Cervical Insufficiency?

An "insufficient" cervix is a cervix too weak to hold a pregnancy to full term, which predisposes a woman to suffer mid-term miscarriage or early (premature) delivery. This has historically been called "cervical incompetence."
