Workers' compensation services at Carolinas Rehabilitation support the business community and protect and ensure the safety of employees. Carolinas Rehabilitation works with the business, medical and insurance communities to reduce the severity and frequency of work-related injuries, provide a safe work environment for employees and control costs associated with work-related injuries.
Highly trained and skilled professionals provide a myriad of services. Using a multidisciplinary approach, workers' compensation professionals conduct analyses, evaluations, screenings, safety procedures and educational services for industrial and commercial businesses throughout the region.
Physical & Occupational Therapy
Licensed professionals familiar with the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Industrial Committee provide objective evaluations, care plans and treatment for worker's compensation. This enables the injured worker to return to work as quickly and safely as possible.
Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE)
These evaluations provide information that allows a manager in the workplace to objectively determine an employee's physical disability or his or her ability to return to work. Physical and occupational therapists certified in the ErgoScience Physical Performance Evaluation provide objective evaluations that measure an individual's physical functional performance level as compared to specific occupational demands. This evaluation is useful in determining an employee's maximum functional performance and return to work options.
This program focuses on restoring an injured worker's strength, flexibility and endurance to a level needed to safely perform job duties.
Job Site Analysis
A vocational rehabilitation specialist scrutinizes work stations and job tasks within a company's work environment to provide a comprehensive ergonomic report. This report includes cost-effective recommendations for reducing and preventing musculoskeletal disorders and other work-related injuries.
Flexibility, Lifting & Endurance Screen
This short, cost-effective screen provides objective measurements of strength, flexibility and lifting that compares an employee's physical capabilities to the physical demands of a specific job. Data from the screen may be used to appropriately match an employee's physical capabilities to a job, to reduce risk of injury.
Injury Prevention Education
Carolinas Rehabilitation's worker's compensation specialists develop and facilitate educational training programs to meet a company's injury prevention needs. The programs can be implemented within the workplace or off-site.
