Camp CARE is committed to providing a normal childhood camping experience to children who have or have had cancer
Camp CARE is committed to providing a camp, and other year round activities for children, ages 3-16, who have or have had cancer, and their families in the Charlotte, NC area.
The philosophy of Camp CARE from the beginning has been that a child with cancer is, first of all, a child. A child, like all children, needs laughter, friends and fresh air. These are the very things Camp CARE can provide.
Camp CARE is a non-profit organization which relies entirely on volunteer support and donations.
Camp CARE hopes to:
Recognize that a child with cancer is first of all a child, who like all children, needs laughter, friends, and fresh air
Provide a summer camp experience, at no cost to the family, for children with cancer, supervised by a trained volunteer staff, including medical personnel
Provide opportunities for families of children with cancer to interact and develop coping skills
Increase awareness in the community of the needs of children with cancer
