Undergraduate degrees offered at Cabarrus College require completion of General Education coursework.

Prior to selecting general education courses, you should review the requirements for your major to determine which general education courses are required for your particular major.

Students enrolled in associate degree programs, must complete a minimum of 15 semester hours of general education coursework, with at least one course from each of the following areas:

  • Humanities/fine arts
  • Social/behavioral sciences
  • Natural sciences/mathematics.

Students enrolled in baccalaureate completion programs, must complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of general education coursework, with at least one course from each of the following areas:

  • Humanities/fine arts
  • Social/behavioral sciences
  • Natural sciences/mathematics.

Diploma students must complete a minimum of 6 semester hours of general education coursework.

General education coursework is optional in certificate programs.

Graduate level programs need only focus on courses in the major; general education courses are not required.
