Program Chair and Associate Professor

Ms. Hassanpour earned a Master of Science in Microbiology and a Bachelor in Biological Sciences from the University of Ahwaz in Iran.

She has been living in the U.S. since 1986 and began teaching at Cabarrus College in 2001. She was awarded the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences 2009 Educational Excellence Award. Her extensive background in research includes toxicological studies of liver at Medical University of South Carolina - Charleston, cell biology and genetics at Emory University and DNA studies at Applied Genetics Laboratories.

She loves to watch and play soccer and also enjoys running.

Ernie M. Faw earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Biology from Appalachian State University. He received his Masters of Education: Science Specialist Track from UNC-Charlotte. Mr. Faw also holds a graduate certificate in Information Technology Management from UNCC.

His teaching experience includes 23 years in the North Carolina public school system where he taught chemistry and physics in addition to coaching football and baseball. Mr. Faw was one of the first PC computer applications instructors at Rowan Cabarrus Community College and during the summers he has been involved in nuclear research for the Department of Energy as a Faculty Research Associate located at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory in Idaho Falls.

In 1997, Mr. Faw came to Cabarrus College as an instructor of Technology. He enjoys volunteering in community events and promoting Cabarrus College at those events.

Dr. Leviner earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Excelsior University in Albany, NY and a Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College in Spartanburg, SC. Although Anatomy and Physiology holds a particular interest for him, he has taught a variety of Biology courses at many academic levels. Dr. Leviner enjoys teaching thru a blended classroom model that incorporates the use of technology, lecture and active learning exercises. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Leviner is an avid equine enthusiast, plays competitive volleyball, and enjoys traveling.
