Walk with a Doc—and Mom—this Mother’s Day Weekend - Archived

Walk with a Doc

When: Saturday, May 11, at 9 a.m.
Where: Freedom Park
Plan to meet at the benches by the duck pond upon arrival. Parking is available at Freedom Park.

Carolinas HealthCare System’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute will host its monthly “Walk with a Doc” at Freedom Park on Saturday, May 11.

Residents of the Charlotte area are encouraged to join their mothers for this educational and healthy walk in honor of Mother’s Day weekend.

Following a brief presentation about heart health by cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon Charles Bridges, MD, physicians and staff from Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute will accompany participants on a one-two mile walk through the park.

During this time, they will answer questions from patients or community members about cardiovascular health and other related concerns.

Walk with a Doc is a grassroots program designed to engage physicians with the Charlotte community. One Saturday of each month, physician and staff volunteers from Carolinas HealthCare System’s Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute will meet community members for a walk, providing a casual forum to discuss heart health topics.

The walk is open to anyone interested in participating, and registration is free.
