Cabarrus College of Health Sciences’ spring commencement will be held Tuesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Concord. John Cox, President and CEO of the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation, will address the approximately 115 graduates and guests. Those attending commencement are encouraged to arrive early to avoid traffic congestion.

Carolinas College of Health Sciences will graduate 84 students on May 3, 2013 from the Schools of Medical Imaging, Nursing, and Surgical Technology. The commencement speaker is North Carolina Representative Ruth Samuelson. Commencement begins at 7 p.m. and will be held at Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church. Carolinas College was ranked the No. 1 two-year college in the nation for the second consecutive year, and its graduates consistently exceed state and national certification testing benchmarks.

Mercy School of Nursing will hold its commencement on May 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church (3115 Providence Rd., Charlotte). Graduates will receive a diploma in nursing (RN) during the ceremony. The guest speaker for the event is Dona Haney, MSN, RN, previous Carolinas Healthcare System employee who worked in the nursing field for 43 years, beginning at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. She spent the last nine years of her career as a nurse educator at the school. A reception honoring the graduates was held immediately after the ceremony.
