CMC-Union Employees Donate 139 Bikes for Children in Need
Carolinas Medical Center-Union employees donated 139 bicycles and helmets to the Union County Christmas Bureau on Monday, Dec. 12. The donation was the culmination of CMC-Union’s 2nd annual Bicycle Drive, a month-long event organized by the hospital’s Employee Retention Committee.
“Our employees’ response to this year’s drive was overwhelming and we were able to top last year’s donation by more than 25 bicycles,” said Holli Breeden, co-chair of CMC-Union’s Employee Retention Committee. “So many of us remember the joy we experienced when receiving our first bicycle for Christmas, and we hope these donations bring the same joy to many of the children served by the Union County Christmas Bureau.”
CMC-Union’s donation also serves as a way to reinforce its stance on safety and wellness. In addition to the bicycles, 139 helmets were donated by the Safe Kids Program at CMC-Union.
