Carolinas HealthCare System Opens First Center in the Region for Specialized Women’s Healthcare
Carolinas HealthCare System recently opened a new specialty center, the first one in the region, designed exclusively for the advanced gynecologic and urology needs of female patients. It is called the Women’s Center for Pelvic Health and it is a unique facility in that it combines the clinical expertise of a fellowship-trained urologist and urogynecologist to treat all aspects of pelvic disorders.
Co-directors Kevin Stepp, MD and Michael Kennelly, MD provide all patients a minimally-invasive approach to treatment using advanced technology such as single-incision laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery, allowing patients to have the fastest possible recovery. The Center combines the expertise of everyone who has a dedicated interest in pelvic health and places the specialists under one facility so women do not have to travel to multiple sites for comprehensive care.
The Women’s Center for Pelvic Health is located in Mercy Medical Plaza, next to Carolinas Medical Center (CMC)-Mercy at 2001 Vail Ave, Suite 360. For more information, call 704-304-1160.
