Construction of Anson County Community Hospital's replacement facility has been underway for the past several months in Wadesboro, NC.

When fully operational in 2014, Carolinas HealthCare System physicians, nurses and other clinical experts will continue to address the health needs of patients traditionally served by Anson Community Hospital with a more tailored design for care delivery. New technology solutions such as electronic medical records and virtual care services will improve access and continuity of care.

Last year, the Anson County Board of Commissioners approved a plan submitted by Carolinas HealthCare System to develop this new healthcare delivery model. The new facility will offer patients improved access to healthcare including unique services designed to better address both inpatient and outpatient needs as well as primary and preventive care.

Examples of new programs include faith-based community health services, wellness coaches and a sliding scale pharmacy with medication management counseling and more. In addition to inpatient and outpatient services, the new campus will place additional emphasis on wellness, disease prevention, disease management and screenings.

During construction of the new facility, Anson Community Hospital and Lillie Bennett Nursing Center have remained fully operational.
