Dr. Scott Furney

Dr. FurneyDr. Furney developed an interest in education and attended the Stanford Faculty Development Program in Clinical Teaching. He has developed and implemented teaching improvement programs with the goal of improving the skill of the teachers who attend those seminars. Dr. Furney has published a trial of the One-Minute Preceptor Model in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, has presented regionally, nationally on behalf of the Stanford Program, and internationally. As Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, he holds yearly teaching retreats for residents as they start their roles as leaders of hospital teams.
