Bladder Cancer Symptoms

Symptoms of bladder cancer can mimic other conditions. If you experience any of the following, contact your healthcare professional as soon as possible for diagnosis. If it is bladder cancer, the sooner you are diagnosed and treated, the better your odds at recovery.

Common signs of this type of cancer include:

  • Blood in urine (rusty-colored urine or urine that appears dark red)
  • Feelings of urgency (the need to empty your bladder)
  • Increase frequency of urination
  • Feelings of urgency but no urine flow
  • Straining to urinate
  • Pain during urination
  • Urinary tract infections
  • Abdominal and/or back pain
  • Poor appetite
  • Weight loss
